Description

Here is some more fan art of two of my favorite characters. Deadpool and Wolverine. This one took about 6 hours to draw using sketchbook pro and a Wacom cintiq. Lots of fun. I might ink this one in Manga Studio and go for some color. Feel free to ink it and let me see it if you do. These characters are property of Marvel comics and I am just drawing them for fun.

Check out my Youtube channel to watch me draw this and other digital sketches at MrRamstudios1

Thanks for watching and more to come! :)

As always, I'm in absolute awe over your level of detail and your ability to shade in a classic "inking" style with a pencil.

From a posing standpoint, the posing and action seem a bit stiff. Wolverine and Deadpool are both too linear in their postures. Dynamic action requires dynamic reaction. I feel that Wolverine should be bent back at the waist a few more degrees, and his body as a whole should be following the movement of his head, which has undergone severe impact. I should look more off balance. Deadpool should perhaps be leaning forward into the kick more, almost as if he were driving the vehicle of destruction that is his foot. Conversely, you could twist his torso slightly away from the kick, to mimic the posing found in a more or less traditional tae kwon do flying side kick. Additionally, the non-kicking leg should be chambered either in front or under/behind Deadpool, and in fact it creates an odd tangent with Wolverine's abs.

Speaking of tangents, the bottom line of your effect block leading into your sound effect creates an odd structure with the knuckles on Wolverine's right hand, as if it were a ray shooting through his knuckles.

The proportions of Wolverine's shoulder and neck structure seem off to me. I imagine some of that may be due to the pauldrons of his uniform.

The angle of Deadpool's sword blade is off. Typically a sword is held so that the edge will face the same way as the striking knuckles of the sword hand, as opposed to the back of the hand. I understand that the sword blade is drawn at that angle to show off the detail of the blade, and that's fine, just perhaps the hand should be angled to allow for that view of the blade.

I said it before, but it bears repeating... your shading and detail is phenomenal. You make excellent use of line weight, and your general form and structure reminds me of the standouts of the Image style of rendering... it seems most like a blending of Keown and Lee, in my opinion, without the busy-ness of Williams inks. I like Williams' inks, but they can be too detailed. Yours detailing on the other hand is very clean, easy to read, and a joy to look at. If I were a better penciller, I'd do everything I could to get you to ink my work.

I've looked at some of your earlier work, and it seems like with each piece you do, you keep improving. The details and shading are nearly perfect already, but your form and structure keeps growing leaps and bounds. Please please PLEASE keep producing work.
